Endodontic case selection – How difficult is it and can I tackle it?

Endodontic treatment and outcomes for patients are best when clinicians can preoperatively assess the difficulty of the case and plan. Often patient factors, the presence of pain and time limitations make this more difficult. This interactive case based session will look at how we can assess case complexity in general practice and use this information to guide prognosis, treatment planning and informed consent processes.

Endodontic failure – What’s going on and what to do?

Endodontic failure can occur for a variety of reasons but the cause and clinical decision-making around endodontic retreatment or extraction can be challenging. Addressing patient expectations, causes of persistent disease and tooth restorability are essential when providing treatment options. This interactive case-based session will consider the factors that assist decision-making and treatment planning and illustrates how endodontic retreatment can offer patients aesthetic and/or biological/functional solutions.
