Raj Rattan’s portfolio career includes over 30 years’ clinical experience in general dental practice. He owned and operated a small practice group. He was Strategic Association Dean at the London Deanery. He has been an international examiner for the College of General Dentistry (formerly the FGDP).

He has provided consultancy services to public and private sector organisations including the NHS, Denplan, dental corporates and the Government where he was appointed a Policy Adviser at the Department of Health. He is the author/co-author of a number of textbooks including a textbook on Law and Ethics. He in an international speaker on a variety of topics relating to general dental practice. In 2008, he was awarded an MBE for services to dentistry.

He was a part-time senior dento-legal consultant at Dental Protection before taking up his current role as Dental Director in 2016. He is currently a visiting professor of general dental practice at College of Medicine and Dentistry.

Raj’s hobbies and interest include creative writing, chess, philosophy, motor sport and magic. He has been a member of the Magic Circle for over 30 years and was the recipient of the Hoffman Prize for his work and research on exposure in magic.
