Direct Resin Veneers Two Ways

Dr Jason Smithson

Sponsored by Ivoclar

Time:
9:00am - 5:00pm (full day course)
Venue:
New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC)

Course pricing:
Congress delegate early bird // $795
Congress delegate standard // $995
Non Congress delegate // $1,495

Course details

Direct resin veneers are one of the most in demand elective procedures in the dental practice in 2026.

When meticulously planned and executed they can be highly aesthetic, durable, conservative of tooth structure and offer a great cost: benefit ratio for many aesthetic problems such as worn, discoloured, misaligned, or spaced teeth.

When poorly done the outcome is often poorly contoured fake looking teeth which create speech problems or fracture at an early stage due to occlusal issues.

This evidence-based hands-on class will take the attendee through preparation, placement, final finishing, and maintenance of resin veneers in a simple, repeatable, and predictable manner.

Two incisor teeth will be treated with two separate approaches.

Hands-on:

  1. Resin Veneer Natural Layering (Central Incisor)
  2. Resin Veneer Simplified (Lateral Incisor)

Venue:
New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC)

Course pricing:
Congress delegate early bird // $795
Congress delegate standard // $995

Course details

Direct composite restorations are a fundamental element in contemporary restorative dentistry. Despite their importance, achieving results that are both predictable and aesthetically pleasing can be difficult without a clear, straightforward process. This one-day course has been developed to equip clinicians with a practical, decision-based method for completing both anterior and posterior composite restorations. The focus is on simplicity, ensuring that clinical excellence is maintained while streamlining procedures.

The programme blends evidence-based theoretical knowledge with live demonstrations and hands-on experiences. Participants are guided through colour selection, layering techniques, and conservative strategies for restoration. Special attention is given to optimising clinical workflows, handling complex substrates, and implementing protocols that consistently yield predictable outcomes.

Throughout the day, attendees will learn how to make informed restorative decisions, simplify colour and layering processes for daily applications, and confidently apply theoretical concepts to clinical practice.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Make confident and informed decisions during direct restorative procedures.
  • Understand colour concepts and streamline shade selection for everyday dental practice.
  • Apply layering protocols suited to various clinical circumstances.
  • Use conservative strategies to reliably mask dark substrates.
  • Comprehend the clinical concept and benefits of the FORMA composite system.
  • Utilise practical advice for achieving efficient posterior restorations.
  • Execute predictable veneer layering, finishing, and polishing techniques.
